If you have lost your job due to Corona, we would like to offer you to participate in our webinar on the subject of life design free of charge in order to proactively design your home office situation during Corona and also your (professional) future. We hope to be able to make a small contribution to the current Corona situation.
You can find more information about the workshop and registration in the following link.
We have recently started offering life design workshops that deal specifically with self-organization, productivity, and well-being in the home office. We work with organizations such as the information and technology agency of the United Nations, the International Red Cross and LVM Versicherung. It's about increasing productivity, maintaining well-being and supporting mental strength through a personal resilience portfolio.
The interview about Life Design with the Neustarter Foundation is mainly about the application of Life Design for older employees and that Life Designer can also play a very important role for us, especially in old age. The Neustarter Foundation is i.a. known for the Praktikum Arbeitswelt 4.0, where older employees can do a 4-week internship at a start-up which also featured in our book.

The Life Design Lab starts a partnership with the Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund (MGB). As part of this partnership, the Migros Klubschule will in future offer German-language courses on Life Design. The courses were designed by the Life Design Lab, the trainers trained by the Life Design Lab, and regular quality controls are carried out by the Life Design Lab.
You can find more information and dates for courses here:
As part of her master's thesis, our student Laura Santacruz carried out life design workshops in her home country Colombia. Not only did she meet interesting people from L‘Oreal, Unilever and other organizations, but was also able to show that Life Design enables a significant increase in the so-called Psychological Capital.
A short video about these workshops and inspiring examples of prototypes from participants from the workshops can be found here:
It was a great pleasure for us to take part in the round table on Human Capital, Design Thinking and Life Design at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. After an inspiring opening speech by Prof. Dr. Andrea Müller on Human Capital, Sebastian Kernbach was able to present his contribution to Life Design, which generated a lot of approval and discussion among HR managers and other executives from various organizations. Among other things, they rated the commitment and added value as particularly high for career development, for onboarding, but also for topics such as diversity and inclusion.

Life design is offered to young and experienced academics at the Swiss Summer School, at ETH Zurich and at the University of St. Gallen, so that they can actively shape their careers at the university or outside of it. At the ETH, the courses are offered for experienced scientists, at the University of St. Gallen primarily for young scientists as part of the “Young Investigator Program” and at the Swiss Summer School for researchers from all levels and departments, from young doctoral students to experienced professors.
You can get more information about the programs at the ETH on “Design Your Career” and at the Swiss Summer School and University of St. Gallen on “Design Your (Academic) Future”
The keynote by Sebastian Kernbach at the Tamedia eXchange conference was rated by the participants as the # 1 Favorite Talk and was thus one of the top highlights of the conference. Participants' voices included “I really loved the design your life talk, it puts things in perspective”, “the life design keynote was pro and enlightening” or “the Kernbach life design talk was funny, interesting, true-to-live and tangible”.
You can watch the talk on Youtube:
After a large workshop for all Jung von Matt employees on prototyping and experimenting, we were able to hold a lunch session on the subject of life design at an internal workshop at the Jung von Matt creative agency.
Sebastian Kernbach had the honor of giving a lecture on "Design Your Life" in front of a sold out house in the pwc Experience Center on October 26th, 2018. The more than 80 participants were so enthusiastic that shortly afterwards the first CreativeMornings Field Trip also took place with the theme "Design Your Life".
You can find the video for the lecture here:

"I really liked the structure of the workshop, the group with their different perspectives helped me to develop new ideas. Very inspiring environment and atmosphere, I look forward to the followup with our peer group."
"I gained more clarity about my wishes and needs, and also the insight that is totally doable. The notion of life design as a process was and will be very helpful."
"It may sound weird but I understood that there is not one perfect way and that others struggle with similar issues. I will continue to visualize more often instead of only writing or thinking. These things together with the idea of prototyping gave me more clarity and make me more relaxed."
We would like to offer a workshop for free for those who have lost their jobs due to the Corona situation. We conduct research about life design on an ongoing basis. Our current projects include the value of life design to support Psychological Capital, to support affect regulation and how visual thinking can help life design. Our research is published in scientific journals and conferences such as the Academy of Management Annual Meeting.
We have an advisiory board consisting of Prof. Dr. Jerome Rossier (Editor of the Handbook of Life Design, University of Lausanne), Prof. Dr. Willibald Ruch (Chair of Positive Psychology, University of Zurich), Prof. Dr. Eugene Horber (Director Swiss Summer School, University of Geneva), and Prof. Martin J. Eppler (Chair of Communication Management, University of St. Gallen).
